The TR6060 Rear Countershaft Bearing Snap Ring secures the rear countershaft bearing in the tailhousing, keeping it properly located under load. It’s a small part that does an important job — if it’s missing, wrong-sized, or damaged, the bearing won’t stay put.
Under normal circumstances this snap ring doesn’t need to be replaced — it’s not a wear item. Most people need it for the same reason they need any small hardware during a rebuild; it got lost on the bench, was damaged during removal, or was simply missing when the transmission came apart. Having the correct one on hand before you button everything up saves a second disassembly.
