T56 Slave Cylinder Shim Kit 5-Pack
When replacing a clutch or slave cylinder in any GM performance vehicle equipped with a T56 or TR6060 transmission, proper slave cylinder engagement is very important. If the slave cylinder travel is incorrect, your clutch will not fully release, leading to hard shifting, grinding gears, difficulty getting into first or reverse, and premature clutch wear. The fix is simple: measure your slave cylinder travel and install the correct shim. That’s exactly what this T56 slave cylinder shim kit is designed to do.
Why do you need a slave cylinder shim?
During a clutch replacement, the space between the slave cylinder and the pressure plate changes depending on the clutch disc thickness, flywheel type, and pressure plate height. Without the correct shim in place, the slave cylinder may sit too far in or too far out — neither of which allows for ideal clutch disengagement. This is one of the most commonly overlooked steps in a T56 clutch install and skipping it can cause issues after a fresh install.
What makes this kit the right choice
Rather than selling individual shims and making you guess which size you need before you’ve even started measuring, our 5-pack includes every size you’re likely to need in a single kit. Measure once, grab the right shim, and get back to the install — no waiting on a second order, no trips to the parts store. With five sizes ranging from 0.050″ all the way to 0.125″, this T56 slave cylinder shim kit covers virtually every T56 and TR6060 application we’ve encountered in our shop.
