C5 C6 C7 Torque Tube Slinger Ring 97-19 Corvette
If you’re rebuilding the torque tube on your 1997–2019 Corvette, the slinger ring is not optional — it must be replaced every single time the front torque tube bearing is removed. Why? Because the slinger ring is essentially destroyed during the removal process. Skipping it or reusing the old one is one of the most common mistakes made during a Corvette torque tube rebuild, and it can lead to premature bearing failure and debris contamination down the road.
What is the Corvette torque tube slinger ring?
The slinger ring — also referred to as a dust cover or dust shield — sits at the front of the torque tube on the prop shaft, directly behind the front bearing. Its job is to deflect debris, dust, and moisture away from the bearing, protecting it from contamination and extending its service life. On a platform like the C5, C6, and C7 Corvette where the torque tube is a critical part of the drivetrain connecting the engine to the rear-mounted transmission, keeping that bearing protected is essential.
Made in the USA by TDP — every slinger ring is produced right here in our Texas shop, to our own quality standards.
Placement: Front of the torque tube, on the prop shaft, directly adjacent to the front bearing.
