If you’re rebuilding a 2.97 ratio T56 transmission and need to replace the cluster gear, this is your only option. The original Tremec countershaft has been discontinued with no OEM replacement available — this aftermarket version is the only new replacement on the market.

When would you need to replace the cluster gear?

The cluster gear is not a routine wear item. It typically needs replacement when the gear teeth have been damaged — most commonly the result of overheating or a hard breakage event. When the teeth are damaged, smooth gear engagement is no longer possible and replacement is the only fix.

Pump provision note: This countershaft includes an optional pump provision — a slot machined into the front that aligns with the mechanical fluid pump found in 2005–2007 T56 models. This provision is simply unused in non-pump applications.
