Which transmissions does it fit?

This 2nd gear goes in TR6060 and TR6070 units with a 2.97 / 2.07 / 1.43 gear set (1st through 3rd). It also fits the 3.01 / 2.07 / 1.43 gear set typically found in the 2010-2011 Camaro. Verify your transmission’s gear ratios before ordering.

Advanced tooth design

This gear has slanted “advanced” engagement teeth. Tremec built the TR6060 with two engagement tooth designs, advanced (slanted) and non-advanced (symmetrical). The slanted style is simply the design used in these applications.

Which synchro sleeve do you need?

This gear works with one of two sleeves. To pick the right one, look at the engagement teeth on your 1st gear. They are always symmetrical, so the only thing to check is whether each tooth has a “step” in it.

• Stepped 1st gear engagement teeth: you need the hybrid synchro sleeve. Its teeth stick out on one side and are flush on the other. Install it with the protruding teeth facing 1st gear and the flush teeth facing 2nd gear.
• Smooth 1st gear engagement teeth all the way down: you need the advanced synchro sleeve. Its teeth are flush on both sides, so it can be installed in either direction.

Reusing your factory sleeve? The factory 1-2 sleeve is stamped to show which side faces 1st gear and which faces 2nd. Install it as marked.
