Featuring the most important content from the original Magnum, the XL retains its brute strength and sophistication but eliminates its multiple shifter locations and dual speed outputs.

Initially available for the 2005 and up “S197” Mustang, the Magnum XL was specifically designed to replace the OEM 5- or 6-speed transmission when performance improvements are desired. Today, we offer the Magnum XL with a GM variant option as well.
Repositioned shifter
A rigid direct-mount shifter provides vastly improved performance and lightning-quick shifts. Refinements include a new extended-length tail section designed to eliminate the semi-remote shifter found in many popular late-model applications.
Ease of installation
Simplifying the swap, the Magnum XL includes an SFI-approved steel bellhousing, cross member, trans mount, isolated shifter and shift ball. It also reuses the OEM hydraulic clutch release system.
