C5 C6 Corvette Torque Tube Drive Shaft Rear Insulator Bushing
This is a billet aftermarket replacement transmission flange prop shaft rear bushing for a C5 & C6 Corvette torque tube. GM has discontinued this part (old GM part number 12456214).
Bushing has a lip built in so that a puller can be attached for easy removal, should it ever be necessary.
CNC machined from chromoly alloy
Utilizes an oil-impregnated bronze pilot bushing.

Fitment
- All C5 & C6 Corvettes 97-13
- SPECIAL NOTES see below
- 97-99 automatic Corvettes require the original bushing to be removed when installing new torque tube bearings ***Once the original bushing is removed, it will be damaged to the point of not being usable. *** Therefore, the bushing must be replaced. Review the gallery photos to see how there is a bolt holding the rear torque tube transmission shaft into the housing. This bolt is behind the bushing, so the bushing must first be removed before proceeding. The bushing is pressed in and there is no way to get a puller connected to it. The best method for removal is to cut into the side and use a chisel and hammer to knock it loose.
- 2000 automatic Corvettes may or may not need this bushing removed and replaced along with a bearing replacement. This was a split year, so we recommend disassembling the torque tube before ordering parts to see for sure what is required
- 01-13 automatic Corvettes use this bushing, but it is not required in order to perform a bearing replacement
- 97-13 manual Corvettes use this bushing, but it is not required in order to perform a bearing replacement
